Kerry Counihan, L.Ac., Dipl.OM., MSTOM, L.M.T. & Esthetician has a passion for helping people live a balanced, and physically thriving life. She’s helped thousands of patients with a variety of long term health issues, ranging from sciatica and chronic pain to anxiety, autism, digestive disorders and PMS to anti-aging and cosmetic enhancement.
In 1991 Kerry received her Massage Therapy degree from the Swedish Institute and began her career in the healing arts. Working and studying in New York City and Boulder, Colorado she added a degree in Esthetics and skin care to her healing toolbox. As part of her quest for excellence she continued honing and expanding her skills at some of the most prestigious Five Star spas New York has to offer such as The Peninsula Day Spa and Cornelia’s’ Day Resort.
Along the course of this journey Kerry became the mother of a beautiful autistic boy. More than ever her skills of massage and her knowledge of healing spa treatments proved invaluable. Though not a cure these treatments helped ease many of the common problems autistic children face: anxiety, insomnia, and touch sensitivity. But she knew there must be more she could do for him. Her searching brought her to Oriental Medicine.
Kerry graduated from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in Dec. 2006 with a Master’s Degree. She is NCCAOM Board certified in Oriental Medicine and licensed in the state of New York to practice, acupuncture, massage therapy and esthetics. Additionally from 2009-2011 she served on the faculty of Pacific College of Oriental Medicine, New York campus in the Massage Therapy Department.
Kerry continues to be one of the most sought after therapists in her field and has treated countless people for a range of ailments, many of whom have remained loyal to her for the health benefits she has given back to them.
